FAQ

  • Why does Spring Naturals only use fresh meat and not meat meal?
  • Meat meal has a lower nutritional level and is less digestible for pets. It has been cooked twice; once by the meal supplier and once by the pet food manufacturer. This causes nutritional loss in over processing.

  • Does Spring Naturals contain any gluten or rice ingredients?
  • No! At Spring Naturals we do not use any gluten or rice ingredients in our recipes. We use fresh meat and eggs to meet a pet’s nutritional level.

  • Why is every batch slightly different in shape and color?
  • In order to retain complete nutrition, Spring Naturals minimizes cooking. No artificial colors or flavors are used, so every batch may be slightly different in appearance.

  • Do all of your ingredients come from the USA?
  • Every ingredient in Spring Naturals low-carb pet foods comes from within the USA, with the only exception being the lamb, which comes from New Zealand.

  • Has your recipe changed since the re-launch?
  • Nope! Our formula and recipes have all remained the same, from the time we initially opened to the re-launch in 2020.

  • Does Spring Naturals contain any artificial preservatives?
  • Spring Naturals uses natural Vitamin E (tocopherols) to preserve the food.

  • How should we keep dog food fresh after opening?
  • A. Use within 6 weeks after opening. B. Store the food in the original bag, using the airtight, resealable zipper to close each time. If you use a storage bin, put the whole package into the bin. Do not pour the pet food into the bin. The bag is specifically designed to store the pet food. C. Store in a cool, dry place.

  • When following the feeding guidelines, my pet gains/loses weight. What should I do?
  • The feeding guidelines are only an average recommendation. Every dog or cat has a different metabolism, activities and breed differences. To find the right amount of food to be given, follow the feeding guidelines initially and adjust accordingly: if your pets becomes too skinny, feed more, if it becomes too fat, feed less. Consult your veterinarian for the right amount of food for your specific pet.

  • How to transition my current pet food to Spring Naturals?
  • Mix Spring Naturals in increasingly larger proportions to your cat’s current diet for the first five to seven days, until you’re feeding 100% of the new food.

  • How do I open the re-sealable bags?
  • Our bags are re-sealable using a pocket zipper. The zipper is concealed under a tear-away strip that serves as a tamper evident strip. By filling our bags and sealing them from the top, the zipper is untouched until opened by customers. Locate the tear-away strip on the front of the bag, a few inches from the top edge of the bag. Look for the bone-shaped pull tab on the far left side. You may need to bend the left side of the bag slightly to lift the tab. Grasp this tab and pull the tear-away strip away from the bag and off to the right, revealing a reclosable zip-strip underneath. Open the bag anytime by pulling the zipper apart, front-to-back. Reclose by pressing the bag closed, running your fingers along the zip-strip until you feel it snap into place.
